Don Bosco has left us a rich educational legacy. He advocated Reason, religion, and Loving-kindness as the pillars of his educational system. He wanted the educator to reason with the students, explaining to them in great detail the reason behind every activity. He knew God and religion is essential to a wholesome education and it would be hollow without them; With loving kindness, the educator makes the children feel loved and cared for, and our Continuous presence helps to ward off any occasion of evil.
He advocated more of ‘prevention and less of repression and punishment’. Hence, his system of education is called the ‘preventive system’.
